Mario Puskarich

Born in Pittsburgh, Coach Mario grew up playing hockey in Florida until moving to Chicago at the age of 15 to play for the Chicago Young Americans (Tier 1 Elite/MWEHL). After two seasons at CYA, Puskarich went on to play two seasons for the Tri City Storm in the USHL, along with two seasons in the BCHL for The Langley Riverman. In his second season in the BCHL, Puskarich won the Brett Hull Trophy awarded to the regular season scoring champion, while also serving as team Captain.

Following his junior career, Puskarich accepted a Div 1 scholarship at the University of Vermont. In his freshman season, Puskarich earned Rookie of The Year (Hockey East) as well as appear in the NCAA Tournament, ultimately losing to the eventual champion (Union) in the first round. Four seasons at Vermont saw Puskarich score 52 goals, 65 assists totaling 117 points, becoming the first UVM player in over 20 years to hit the 50 goal & 100 point mark.

After Mario’s senior season at UVM, he signed a professional contract with the Manchester Monarchs of the (ECHL).  Puskarich found success right away and found himself making a deep playoff to the conference finals, ultimately losing in game 7. The next two seasons saw Puskarich make the move to Europe, playing for Medvescak Zagreb in the (EBEL).  After two seasons in Croatia, Puskarich joined the Manchester Storm in the (EIHL) playing out of Manchester, England. While the 2020-2021 season saw the (EIHL) cancel the season due to Covid-19, Puskarich is still under contract for the upcoming season projected to begin January 2022.

Tyler Shipstad

Vice President

Tyler Shipstad is a Colorado native and has been on skates his entire life. He grew up playing hockey in the Denver, Colorado for the Hyland Hills Jaguars and the Littleton Hawks. He then moved onto play for the Colorado Rampage in the Tier 1 Elite League and as team captain, won an Under 18 State Championship in 2012. Shipstad continued his career with the Fresno Monsters (NAHL) and the Minot Minotauros (NAHL) as an assistant captain. After his 18U AAA season, Shipstad then committed to play NCAA hockey for the University of Wisconsin-Stout for two seasons.

Coach Shipstad now serves as the Vice President of the Colorado Rampage, Monument Ice Academy and 365 Performance Hockey Academy. Coach Shipstad is the head coach of the 16U AAA team and Associate coach of the 18U AAA  team in the Tier 1 Elite league.

 


Pat Bingham

365 PHA Coach

Pat Bingham, originally from Vancouver, British Columbia, started his professional hockey career playing in the AHL, ECHL, COHL, SUHL, and SHL until 1998 when he decided to focus his career on coaching. Over the next fourteen years, Bingham went on to coach more than 1,000 games at the professional level including teams in both the American Hockey League and the East Coast Hockey League. During this time, he set Professional franchise coaching win records for six different teams including the Elmira Jackals (ECHL).

Bingham now serves as the President of the Colorado Rampage Association and as a full time Monument Hockey Academy coach. Bingham’s passion and professional knowledge of the game is instilled in Monument Hockey Academy students where they grow their skills, improve quickness of mind, and gain situational awareness to better prepare them for their careers at the professional and collegiate levels.

 


Jon Eng

Director of Sports Performance

Jon Eng has been with the Colorado Rampage since May 2012. Recently has been named the Director of Sports Performance of the Colorado Rampage. He is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and the USA Weightlifting Association as a Sports Performance Coach Level 1. In 2009 he received his Bachelor of Human Kinetics from Trinity Western University (Langley, British Columbia, Canada) and received his Masters of Science in Sports Medicine in the Strength and Conditioning Track from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs in May 2013. While attending Trinity Western University, he was a strength and conditioning intern from 2007-2009 under head strength and conditioning coach Andrew Heming. Following Jon’s internship, he became the head strength and conditioning coach in 2010 at Columbia Bible College. During his tenure, he had the opportunity to help the men’s volleyball program to a Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association National Championship in Spring of 2011. Between 2011-2012, Jon interned with the Colorado College Tigers (NCAA Division III), Colorado State Pueblo Thunderwolves (NCAA Division II) and Colorado Rampage AAA Hockey Club. In addition Jon has completed practicums at Air Force Academy and Colorado Orthopedic Center of Excellence.

Over his coaching career Jon has worked in both team and individual settings with basketball, hockey, soccer, golf, softball, swimming, lacrosse, volleyball, football, track & field, figure skating and tennis. Jon has worked with hockey athletes who compete in the United States Hockey League, North American Hockey League, Western Hockey League, United States Priemer Hockey League, NCAA Division I and III, professional hockey and figure skating from pre-juvenile to senior including International &Olympic caliber skaters from the USA, France, and Switzerland.

Also he has extensive experience working as a personal trainer and kinesologist with both female and male clients ages 15 to 50 years old with Coastal Fitness (Langley/Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada). Growing up Jon was involved in hockey from the age of 6 as a goalie, coach and referee.

Jon is originally from Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada and has lived in Colorado Springs/Monument area since August 2011.


Coach Kevin

Strength & Conditioning Coach

Kevin Gregory is a Strength & Conditioning coach with over 19 years of experience. Kevin received his is BA from Westmont College in Santa Barbra, CA and his Masters from A.T Still University in Mesa, AZ. 

Before joining the 365 team he was the Director of Football Performance and Santa Barbra City College. He has a passion for coaching kids and helping them become the best athletes they can be. 


Coach Justin

Strength & Conditioning Coach

Justin is new to the Colorado area. He previously worked for the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee as a Strength & Conditioning Coach before joining us. He has experience working for the Tom Landry Center, Phoenix Suns, Dallas Stars and Chicago Cubs. 

Justin has a BS in Kinesiology and MS in Sports Management. He also has a USA Hockey level 4 coaching certification along with a USA level 1 coaching certification and over 19 years of coaching experience.


Colin Martel

365 PHA Coach

Colin started his hockey career playing youth hockey in Michigan for the Ann Arbor Arctic Wolves. He played 3 years of High School hockey at Pine Creek before moving to Colorado. 

With almost 14 years of coaching experience, Colin has had the opportunity to serve in many different roles. He has been an assistant high school coach, USA Hockey National u16 and u15 intern coach and Vierumäki A-Junior assistant coach and video coach. Today, he coaches the Colorado Rampage 12u AA & 14u AAA while also coaching the MHA and 365 PHA.
