Coach Nick

Nick Hedayatpour, originally from Iran, learned to ice skate and play hockey in Malaysia (a tropical country with no ice) at the age of 22 on a tiny ice rink half the size of a standard NHL rink. He started fitness training to gain a performance edge since ice time was limited. His pursuit of improving his hockey performance with limited resources and his interest in fitness led to a bachelor’s degree in Sports Physiology and a master's degree in Performance Coaching with a focus on Strength and Conditioning and Nutrition.

Through his love and dedication to hockey, he qualified to make Iran's national team and experienced playing at the Winter Games and World Championships. He still is on the national roster and trains diligently to improve his hockey game.

He has also travelled to many countries to acquire practical knowledge on strength and conditioning + nutrition from practitioners and institutions to deliver results for his athletes. He has been able to produce professional athletes in 11 sports including hockey.

He is looking forward to contributing to the growth of the athletes at Monument Ice Rinks and helping the players get closer to their hockey dream!
